Robonautics is very much the theme here.
From students building robotic carts for solar landings ( 16 year olds have an inter school competition each year ) to the inventors/ scientists / programmers building the human robots. They are about 2.5 metres and they will be very much part of the next space travel.
The shuttle is a mock up of the 3 man Orion shuttle.
Currently expecting more moon exploration and mars in about 3 to 5 years. They expect Mars will be a 6 month travel from earth, spend 12 months there and then a 6 months return . Seemingly the time on Mars has to do with the earth and mars being in alignment.
We were told that someone is working on a new energy source ( heat from the sun I think ). That will allow speeds of 300,000 to 700,000 miles per hour through space. This could reduce the time to a couple of weeks to get to mars.
How do you slow down at those speeds?. Maybe rockets at both ends of the space ship. Anyone booking a Flight!
