On the deck of the SS Great Britain

Maybe some of my ancestors travelled on this from Ireland to Australia.

The same man ( Brunel ) that designed this also designed Clifton Suspension Bridge over the River Avon. Will have to wait until we get back to Bristol to view it.

Wonder if Jack or Nicholas or Lucy know what this boat is doing on top of the building?

Water features in Bristol help make the main centre of Bristol a pleasant place to walk around.

Wells and Glastonbury

Glastonbury. Known for the remains of an old Abbey which would have been about 800 feet long. Also for the pop concerts which bring thousands to the area next week.

Wells has a magnificient Catherdal.

Amazing well kept. Pity it was rubbish day!

York

A walk along the river Ouse in York.

The York Minster. The largest Medieval Church in Northern Europe.

Park and eating places close by.

A view of the York Minister from on top of the Roman Wall that surrounds some of the older part of York. About 2 to 3 miles is walkable and gives good views of the City.

Another gardern that looked to inviting for some of us. Cream Tea with large scones.

Very persuasive is Justin. However when we left to get back on top of the Roman wall we found the gate locked. We managed to climb over or through the palings. Not bad seeing it was just under 2 metres tall.
