Bangkok

Visited the Grand Palace. Proabably the best known attraction in Bangkok. It contains the  Emerald Buddha. No photo allowed.  Very hot today at 37 degrees. Also saw the enormous reclining gold buddha. After that,some lunch, shopping and a trip on the river.

Cooking School

Left at 8.30 and finished just after 3.00 . Started at the markets to check out the ingredients.
Cooked some great dishes and really liked the geen currie and hot and sour soup. Bananas done in hot coconut milk was good as well.
Had trouble getting back to our hotel in the old quarters because of the Songkran. We were in the back of a ute but got soaked. The driver could not get through the crowds so had to drop us outside the old quarters. We had no idea where we were but got back at about 5.00 with more water being thrown at us.
Pam bought some water pistols to retaliate!

On the way back to our Hotel

Stopped at an umbrella factory and then it took over an hour to get back to the hotel. It waa about 35 degrees and we wanted a swim. However it is the water festival and all ages were finding various ways to get anyone wet. From back of bikes, utes, public transport and from the side of the road. Notice tbe water pistols.
