Canterbury

Canterbury Cathedral at night.

Some quaint buildings.

Impressive from the outside but not so grand inside.

Strasbourg

Heading through the locks for some sightseeing.

Great buildings

and reflections.

In the main square opposite the Strasbourg Cathedral is this little reminder of WWII.

A very old tree (Plane Tree) that musicians would sit in the branches and play their music.

The Strasbourg Cathedral.

and lit up at night by a light show.

Out with Lisa and Justins friends for a French dinner.

Champagne Region

We stayed at Cumieres not far from Epernay in the Champagne region.

A visit to the Moet Chandon winery in Epernay with very, very expensive champagne on sale.

Now in Hautvillers for you know what.

After the usual tasting we bought Champagne from here.

and the view of this region.

The patisserie shop opens at ?

It opened on the first dong of 4 and we got lunch after all.

Just about every place had a sign out the front.

Justin took photos of hundreds of these. It should make an interesting collage.

That evening we found ourselves at a light show in Epernay along the Champs de Champagne .

Alsace wine region

One of the villages we went to in this region was Riquewihr where we bought wine and Lisa and Frances visited the Xmas shop!

The next village close by is Hunawihr which is known for some wildlife.

Colmar

One of the prettiest villages.

and of course the delights like these, although we bought Chocolate eclairs and lemon tarts instead.

Basel

Pretty scenery as we head into Switzerland.

Only a few hours in Basel and time for a couple of photos.

Off to dinner

at this bar and restaurant.

Mosern

In Austria we stayed at an Alpine village called Mosern. A twilight view from our balcony, looking down the valley.

Close to our hotel we found a lake to walk around. What has Justin found?

The walk was a little strenuous for Lisa!

A daytime view of the valley.
